Description
New for 2026: an adjustable timing electronic ignition kit, designed to be simple to set. This is a proven replacement for the original system with the central black plastic pick-up.
Our new (2026 version) adjustable billet stator plate is precision-machined and accurately assembled, allowing precise ignition timing to be set and repeated with confidence. When the fixing bolts are centred in the slots, the stator plate is in the correct base timing position. Small adjustments can then be made to advance or retard the timing, with a strobe lamp used to align the timing marks at a steady 1,100 rpm tick-over. The slot length ensures you are always within the correct range.
The Roadster kits are designed for direct connection to standard Yamaha wiring looms, with only basic wiring required. The 12-volt electrics are native to Yamaha systems, ensuring straightforward installation. Variations in connectors are sometimes found on older machines or non-domestic models, but these present no difficulty in practice.
The kit contains a new fully assembled 12V billet stator, electronic ignition unit, HT coil, voltage regulator & fitting guide.
Requires the flywheel to be stamped “FOTO2171, FOTO2172 or FOTO2173”.
